Max Resolution 1680 x 1050
It maybe a very good monitor, but for that price i would much rather buy a 24inch that can do 1900x1200

i dont think you realize.... the 2209WA is eIPS technology.... its so much better than ANY other 22incher or lower priced 24incher.
1680x1050@75hz is its max rez, crazy viewing angles, ZERO input lag, low response time, amazing color accuracy... for 200 bucks its a friggin steal!

to each their own. While your point certainly is valid to a certain crowd this deal is aimed more at the image quality crowd due to the eIPS panel vs the usual TN.
Great deal
I spent around 230.00 and I LOVE it! I would say buy it!
Can't recommend this monitor highly enough. All other IPS panels cost at least twice this amount. My workplace (a printhouse/digital imaging shop) recently switched over to these and everyone has been incredibly impressed; not the least of which is my boss who is thoroughly enamored of their price-to-performance.

taxes are obviously applicable to states dell does business in... in my case i get donked with taxes AND CA lcd fee... still comes out to 233.45 - 10 bucks cheaper than when i bought it and haggled small business down in price!
@STYYN - did you guy calibrate them with something... out of the box they are almost perfect just need a slight tweek of the gamma. Quite amazing that everyone is liking them being that your dealing with super pickey ppl when it comes to color accuracy!

check out my post number 19... shows how to do it. I love 75hz.. the 25% increase in fps makes everything so much smoother. my GTX 260 pegs the vsync limit on every game i play which is awesome!

I ordered one this afternoon. I'm excited about getting one after I've read so many good things on these forums about them. Was just waiting for them to go on sale again to be tempted enough to grab one up.

+1 I think this monitor is for another crowd, not me :P Perhaps people who work in graphic design or modeling/animation.
I am a coder so i really like the extra pixels more than the slight difference in quality. Scrolling sucks.

would be nice to get that kind of panel on a 24 inch, i bet the 2010 model will have that.

My boss (our IT manager) has a nifty calibrator that attaches to the front of the monitor, though I can't recall the make/model right now. He made one profile using the calibrator and then pushed that out to all the folks that received the new panels. Five or six weeks on and zero complaints from--as you mentioned--very picky people :)

Everything you say here is true, but is Dell paying you to promote this monitor here? Lol
(just kidding of course..)
I have two in a dual set up and I agree.
Mine took less than a week to arrive, but I never checked when it was supposed get here.
p.s. that was about a month ago.

Is this just on my end or does anyone else get the "product not available for online purchase" when they try to go to the order link? :-/
Nope, doesn't work for me either. They probably pulled it after getting a flood of orders from the sale.
I can't imagine that they would discontinue this product but you never know. I don't know what the average product life cycle is Dell products.

Doz said his shipped today also! Funny
Lol!
Dunno if I actually want to use this as my gaming monitor since it probably means I will need to turn down settings. Kinda wasteful, sorta? :p
Well, it'll work fine with less graphic intensive games. Civ4, Demigod, Supcom, other silghtly older stuff.
*goes and drools at dual-monitor Supcom

Steve, try calling and inquiring about your order's ship date. That's what I did and the rep was very helpful. She even personally sent me email updates as the order progressed. Might help you get yours faster.
In fact, mine's been delivered (gotta pick it up from parent's house later) and the rep already emailed me to inquire about my satisfaction.
Mine is to be delivered the 17th!! Just intime for some weekend gaming!
I too called and complained. Told them I needed the LCD as my other one was out, they told me OK, it will be shipped by Monday. It "went out" Sunday (technically Monday). They called today to let me know about the shipment as well.

^ stock settings all round... brightness @ 75 contrast at 75. brightness can be changed to suit your lighting.
In the nvidia control pannel run the display optimization wizzard, dont change any settings on the monitor (it will ask to turn down brightness till two shades of black appear the same... with this monitor it never happens because it can display a full 16.7mill colors) but do change the R G B gamma sliders as indicated by the instruction. this will make everything a much more rich color.

I have an ATI card. Any suggestions for me? nd4speed?
also will this card run at 75 hertz with an ATI card? i have an x1900xtx.
So far so good, a lot! easier for me on my eyes. still messing around :)

Gonna try calling them now and see what happens. Took forever just to get the right number.
*** The lady said that all she could tell me is that they may be waiting on parts to build the monitor. She does acknowledge that many customers get their products before the estimated ship date.

Nvidia color wizard - stay away, far far away. Last time I tried it, it completely fubared my color profile horriably. What was worse was I had no idea where that stuff ended up being stored - deleting then reinstalling the defauly color profile didn't work, neither did uninstalling the damn drivers - it took a system restore to get rid of it.
Anyway, on monitor delivery things - mine apparently showed up today at some point, which means I'm not getting it for another day. Hopefully they choose a time when I'm home...

Hmmm, I turned brightness down to 41, left contrast at 75 and set sharpness to 40. Those are the only things I changed. Seems to be alright to me. I'm sure it could be better though, but I've never calibrated a monitor before. I need to work on getting 75hz to work. I tried following the instructions last night but it kept saying test failed. I'll post in the appropriate thread regarding further issues w/ that though. Great monitor so far!
