I am building a computer for my brother, tell me what we think of the specs. He is going to be doing some video editing and gaming mostly.

Intel P4 1.7-2.0 ghz
512mb - 1gig pc2100mhz DDR Memory
MSI 845 Ultra-ARU
ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon 7500
2 60gig 7200rpm Hard Drives
sb audigy platinum
300watt Mid Tower Case

Stuff from old comp
Linksys 10/100 Nic
12x DVD
8x4x32 Burner
15gig 7200 rpm HDD
10gig 5400 rpm HDD

sigh* my family is going Intel first my dad now my brother. My dad is sold on intel since he bought his computer. he thinks they are GOD! Everyone in the store looked at me funny when i said i like AMD.

The only thing I'd suggest is the cpu -- make sure it is a Northwood and not a Willamette. The Northwood is supposed to be a much better performer.

get the Intel Pentium 1.8ghz Northwood (they sell it cheaper in some places that the 1.8ghz Willamette), it can be overclocked to 2.4ghz without a problem

just look at the benchmarks to prove it intel needs a 500mhz lead to beat amd

Even the AMD 386 that I have is better that Intel's 386.

I have nothing against AMD, i just don't think they are reliable enough, Intel - even if they rip you off you get quality
