Hey folks,

I have a dsl modem and the gateway IP is 192.168.1.1
my wireless router gateway IP is the same as dsl modem

LAN cable was connected from the DSL modem to one of the LAN router ports,
in this case i can only access to the modem due to gateway IP was the same. I tried to change modem gateway to 192.168.1.2 so i can access both. i enabled the router DHCP but the wireless connection kept dropping randomly like every 30 seconds, then i changed it to PPPoE type but couldn't get rid of dropping connection.

there's a Internet Port from the router i don't know what it for

router is Linksys WRT160N
DSL modem is Westell 6100

I guess i did something wrong

How to config to get rid of dropping connection people?

Sounds like you Doulbe Natted !!

First connect your computer lan to the Linksys Lan port and access the web config page,

there you can change the PW and IP you want for the Linksys too,,, EG 192.168.1.2 click save then you will use this new IP to access the Linksys in future.

If your Modem Router is set to DHCP then turn this off on the Linksys set it to APP Mode

or set a ststic IP of 192.168.1.2 for the Linksys Lan ( DONT USE the internet port.)
