Here they have a pre-order special... it looks like all 5 episodes (delivered monthly) costs $35. I've never been one to pre-order, but if each episode separately is ~$10 which looks like their current pricing scheme, maybe that's a good deal?

when they say all 5 episodes they mean like the older versions of the game? or they mean that Tales of Monkey Island has 5 parts and u can buy each of them for $10 each?

well what I took from reading into it (for a few minutes), is that the "tales" series is a set of 5 new episodes (one large story arc), and it sounds like your progress in one chapter can bridge into the next game. One episode to be released per month starting tomorrow...

I've got mixed feelings - I guess I feel kinda jaded with the way game franchise "revivals" tend to turn out... though it looks like a real effort has been made to retain the talented individuals who made the classics shine.

I got it, so far I played the intro, I don't know if I am a lot smarter than when I played the last Monkey Island game, or if the intro is really easy.

I played the first one, had a blast. I think it was easier for me, cause I played all the old ones and know not to look in the obvious places. I still took some time to complete it

Without cheating? Not a chance, some part...yes (if you played the old ones) other situations are tricky...just like they were the first time you played the original Monkey Island

I've been more inclined to wait for the "collectors dvd" with all games on one disc... I wonder if that times out correctly for the holiday season?

jstutman's experience sounds promising though... If I hear much more of the same I'm liable to bite the bait early :D

I never played the first ones, but I like the humor involved in this. sometimes you just need to get away from the seriousness of some games.
