With my recent acquisition of Mac Powerbook, I've dug up a few older games I still liked to play. Unfortunately those 1.4MB floppy disks seems to have a short shelf life of less than 10 years, I'm getting lots of problem trying to get the games installed and running. (oddly all 800k and even relic 400k 3.5" disks are still readable :screwy:)

Is there a legal way to get the lost games installed? Some companies may not even offer replacement disks anymore yet refuse to put the game up for free download and I don't want to risk getting in trouble for downloading "illegally"

I'm particularly fond of Sim City 2000, and they run way too fast on my current PC but should be fine on my Powerbook.

And what's wrong in getting a copy on the net of a game you already own, plus those games should be free by now, don't see the big deal about it.

It looks like SimCity 2000 is free. Check it out here:

You may need an update to run in OS X though (as opposed to OS 9 or before).
