eVGA 7800GT 256Mb or eVGA 7900GS 256Mb

I am going to build a system for my son and I got option of these cards and as I never used them (cards are used btw) I am not sure which one would be better for gaming (older games like nfsu2 etc).
I think these are equal power cards, but If you know more please do tell which to use.
