Problems with Firefox...Virus?

So I'm having a problem with firefox. When I close a browser the firefox.exe *32 process will remain open in the task manager. If I open firefox again, a second instance of the process will open but the browser window that appears does not open to my homepage and my bookmark buttons are not on the window. Sometimes while browsing and with the task manager open, the screen will freeze for a second and then a second instance of firefox.exe *32 will appear. It sounds like a virus to me (I did a little research before writing this thread) but I ran a virus scan with a fully updated McAfee Antivirus and it found nothing. Any suggestions?

OK I think that I fixed it. Thank you redduc900. I had seen that article before but I read depper into it and I think that I found the problem. Either COMMODO or cooliris was causing the system to hang. The only thing that I don't understand is why a second process was appearing out of nowhere...I'll post again if the problem persists.
