my bios allows me to change the following settings and i can use the following values on them and get no memory errors.
dram PH limit_______________8 not tried anything else yet
dram Idle limit______________8 not tried anything else yet
dram Trc timing value________10 to 5
dram Trp timing value________3 to 2
dram Tras timing value_______2 to 9
dram CAS latency___________2.5 to 2
sdram Trcd timing value______3 to 2

from what i can gather cas 2 is better than 2.5 and the benchmarks seem to support that but i have absolutely no idea what any of the others mean, also they have strange effects on the benchmarks and without trying out a million different combinations cant figure it out.

please help, does anyone know what these mean, and what i should set them to?

You should see better results from running the memory at CAS2 vs. CAS 2.5. In most cases, it is better to run a lower FSB at CAS 2 than a higher FSB at CAS 2.5.
