I have been recently having bad incompatibility issues with a gigabyte ga-ma790x-ud4p motherboard and various ddr2 memory and submitted quite a few questions to gigabytes customer support team via an online form. The responses I have been given were generic in nature and did'nt even start to resolve my problem.(like thanks for understanding that they can't help) I am disgusted with my board but refuse to go out and purchase a replacement product only 3 months after purchasing this one new for $120. The retailer, Frys, tells me I am past my return policy dates (15 days for motherboards) and refuses to help.
Does gigabyte have a forum set up in the U.S. and If so would someone please post the address. I am willing to be patient and wait for a bios revision to fix the problem If I know that Gigabyte is aware of my problem and are working on a solution.

Just so you know, on there web site, under each board they have a "memory support list" http://www.giga-byte.com/FileList/MemorySupport/mb_memory_ga-ma790x-ud4p.pdf it was your call to buy something not on it.

Apart from that, imo it should still work, have you tried any other sticks that are on that list, if so, how did they go.
I'd like to know if it the board, or is it the sticks.

Are all the settings on auto, or have you set them for the stick you are running, ie: vdimm, timings ?

What bios are you running ?

Adriana, Thank You, se hablas espanol gracias por ayudarme....Deanzo.....Thank you I already read the list about 2 months ago and either am naive or just like every other overclocker and try to maximize performance...this sometimes entails going outside of what is recommended or certified. I did try auto and manually setting voltages, Have the latest revision of bios (f5), have tried (f4), would try f3 and below but they are no longer available. Also with each memory set I manually set timings to recommended also. I would expect the motherboard not to be able to set all settings correctly for memory that is not officially supported but you should be able to tweak the various timings and subtimings and get a majority of memory to work.
