ok guys & gals. i have pc133 and my fsb is at 110 oc'd. how high should i be able to push my pc133 to. will it go to 145 or 150, or should i go get pc150. my a7v is rated to handle pc 100 or 133. my memory is generic cheapest stuff. anyone familiar with this board?
Doesnt the A7V run the KT133 chipset? If so then the highest it would go would be 115MHz/230FSB IF your lucky. The older KT133 could never really hit 133MHz/266FSB. Stick with the PC133 & if it's a good brand of memory then all you can do is run it at CAS2 with all the timings available set at their fastest:beer:

yes the kt133. i just did not know if the board would handle memory speeds over say 140 and if it did would the memory handle it or what?
I only have PC133 CAS3 on my current rig & it'll only go 143FSB CAS3 Normal Timing(tRAS6 - tRP3 - tRCD3):(. What brand & CAS rating do your modules have right now? It would be hard to tell really what the potential of your ram. The best way to find out is to actually use it on a MoBo with the newer KT133A chipset but then again I would just shift to DDR if I wanted a new board. That's just what I'm in the process of doing now.

i really do not know what the cas is on my memory. i think it is syncdata memory, some generic c*@p. i saw a website on one of these forums that will tell what memory you have by the chip and mine was not on there. if i change the settings to 2 instead of 3 it does not change my performance.
No change from CAS2 & 3? That's strange:eh?: Well you really get what you pay for with RAM.

yes i know now. i did not at the time. well i guess you live and learn. i will wait for crucial memory's price to come down again and upgrade. thanks for the feedback...:D
