Alright i have a 1.4 TB and i just got a new pal8045 on this forum i see folks saying leave the 4 pads on the cpu, on articsilver website they say take them off. what to do ,what to do.

either way doesn't make a difference go ahead and leave them on
but if one falls don't sweat it. have a duron with one missing and it works fine

I have the same tb as you did you have to unlock yours

yea I think it was running at 1045 with stock multiplier

Why would a 1400 run at 1045. What is showing it at 1045

hardass.. just leave the pads on... there is no reason to take them off....... if anything they will help...
the only reason to take the pads off is if you have a cooling setup like a vapochill and need to insullate between the processor and the evaporator.
other wise just leave the pads on.
and only apply a very thin layer of ASII

not if it is for 133 fsb on a kt133 mb

a t-bird 1.4 runs the following speed 10.5x133=1400
he has a 200mhz fsb mobo... so his chip runs 10.5x100=1050mhz
that is why...

just unlock the chip and run higher mulitplier

All 1.4GHz 266FSB Thunderbird come factory unlocked

Go back up to Application Instructions # 2 it says remove thermal pads.

Thanks for the info i can,t oc with my mobo but at least i know mine is unlocked for when i get my new mb.
