Just had a brief play before i go out, notched the voltage upto 1.675, which registers on hardware monitor as 1.645, and currently stable at 2.7ghz.

Ram timings are current only on normal, as i am seeing how fast they can go.

cool!
can you tell more, did you use special Fan, which Memory etc.

I get soon mine. Maybe the 1.8 are just 2.2 with handbrake on (see no reason why intel shoud have build for the 1.8, 1.6 extra 2 factories) :D

This is using the standard retail PIV heatsink and fan, with two sticks of crucial PC2100 in an Abit SD7-533. Once i have found the top speed of my memory, i will start playing with it a bit more. Can probably get the cpu faster, as the voltage can be pushed all the way upto 2.2v.

..it must be a MALAISIA, after price-drop monday all will be Philippines :D :D

Wow, can you give us a screen shot or benchmarks? Awsome those Northwood are showing some serious power.

Have you noticed the amd people backing down lately?

nice. Can you post some "real-world" benches like 3Dmark, Q3, Serious Sam, GLmark, etc. etc?? Don't forget to include your full specs like vid card, its speed, you know...

He's benchmarking his overclocked CPU and not video card! Those tests you mention are for graphical testing and unless you consider playing games only on your computer they aren't real world tests. I don't play games on mine so winbench , sisoft sandra and superpi are my only testing programs.

Well, that's fine, those were the only ones I could think of really quick. I am assuming that with a PIV 1.8A he at least has a GF3 tho...otherwise twould be silly to have bought a 1.8A first. Plus, he could run them at lower resolutions to test CPU, no?

And I consider Sandra a waste as far as being a benchmark. It can only give approximations of "real-world" apps, especially when you consider the SSE2 functions for PIV's.

Anyway, what are some other apps then? Super Pi and...?

I hope you didn't take that as an insult because i didn't mean the post to sound that way.
As you see in my sig i only use Geforce 2 GTS cards and thats why i no longer post scores using 3dmark or such. If i were to buy a new Radean 8500 or Geforce Ti500 then i would maybe compare scores. I'm sure he'll get some outrageous scores using those cards. Winbench was another benching program but i haven't seen anyone using it anymore here. I use now SuperPi , Seti benchmark and Mpeg4/divx encoding now. Those to me have real world applications for cpu usage.

Nah, it was a little "off the cuff" but replies get that way when typed. no offense taken.

Hehe, your sig is a PITA to read with those colors and it is long as h*ll too, I am surprised no one has asked you to change it yet ;) I could see SETI, Folding (does it have a benchmark), and those Sciencemark proggies reviews often have as good pure "CPU/platform" tests.

With a good vidcard, games are good benchmarks too, they do stress the FPU quite a bit too you know. Of course, one could always look around for tests with the same vidcard, or for 3Dmark, madonion keeps scores based on vidcard. Just more data to compare is all-after all, if you only run one program then that is the only one you should bench, but if you do a lot of different stuff you will have to find the best overall compromise.

I have a Radeon 8500, and i will be running 3dmark and some real game tests later on, but for now i have to go into work, then sort out my xp installation to remove all the via and nvidia drivers. Hoping to hit 2.8ghz with a bit of luck.
