View Full Version : Done with Newegg

Right now I am very frustrated with newegg.
At first, I get a DOA 4890 from them. Knowing these things happen once in a while, I just RMA it and within a week have a new one. This second one lasted about an hour and dies. After this I decide just to get a refund and go to microcenter and buy a GTX275...Here's where the frustration begins.
I ship my package out on saturday the 27th of June. I know it won't ship until Monday, so that didn't bother me. It was suppose to be there that Friday, but Newegg had there RMA department off for the day for 4th of July, Frustrating but understandable.
So it finally gets to newegg on Monday. They don't put it in there system until Tuesday, so I think that maybe it will get in my paypal on friday...Nope. Than I hope that maybe Monday it would be there...Nope. I get to today and it's not there so I call them. They gave me the runaround about how some serial number didn't match the RMA number and that they finally approved it today. Here comes the part that really cooks my goose, THEY TELL ME THAT IT WON'T EVEN GET INTO MY PAYPAL FOR ANOTHER 5 DAYS.
So it's going to be well over a month to just get a stupid refund put into my bank account which I find rediculous. I have been a faithful customer for 3 years now and this is how they treat me? Well that's fine they will never see another penny from me ever again.
Sorry if some parts don't seem to make any sence, I'm pretty angry right now.
You can thank PayPal for a lot of that delay...

How does an extra couple days due to a holiday weekend = a month?
i am not at all suggesting that you did that dapman02 but i rather believe that it has a lot to do with people ordering parts, use and/or break them and then return them or rma them. not so much paypal, newegg is not as easy about returns and rma's as they used to be, with good reason.
it only takes a few to screw it up for everybody

Sent it on June 29th
29-4 1 week (regular shippng)
6-11 2 weeks (recieved and processing)
13-17 3 weeks (approving and showing up on paypal taking at LEAST 3 days)
20-25 4 weeks (actually showing up on Paypal and transferring cash takes 3 days)

Newegg obviously did nothing wrong. Personally, based on what you wrote your unwillingness to wait is the problem here. You shipped it back over a holiday weekend, and used paypal to buy and refund something.
Newegg at least took care of you. 2 cards and a refund. I'm surprised you've not gotten this line already.
It sounds like this really isnt Neweggs fault. I try to avoid paypal whenever possible myself.

That happens with pretty much every 'Newegg complaint' thread here. People are either impatient or unreasonable. Newegg has a great reputation for a reason.

I hope the OP will come back in the thread and thank Newegg when they give him a $30 (or whatever) credit for his perceived inconvenience

PayPal sux bad lately. I order from vendors with a debit card. The transaction goes through just like a CC. Get a checking acct and a debit card. I don't even have any checks, just the card.

I also use my debit card whenever possible. Thankfully, I have never had any problems with a Paypal purchase...but I have never had to deal with an RMA situation or any other type of problem with a purchase.

Well, Now I just feel silly.
It seems that it only took a day for it to show on my paypal, than it was in my bank account 3 days later :(
It seems Newegg has me back as a customer, and now I feel like crap.\
Oh, and thanks, Alex, for the offer for help. I forgot about this thread or else I would have called you up.

I never use Paypal except for eBay...which I rarely use anyway.
Hope you learned a valuable lesson here :)

Newegg is one of the most satisfying merchants out there...I just hope they stay the course and ride the hard times out without much fuss.
They also have a good feedback system, which I use to determine how good a product is b4 I buy it..although I do take some of the feedback with a grain of salt...like the guy who cut off the heatpipes off a cooler and called his tech abilities as "high" Bwahaha

I wholeheartedly agree about the feedback system ( reviews) at newegg. There have been countless times that I have based my decision on item #1 or item #2 on the reviews, and of course the "grain of salt"...sometimes many grains of salt..ha..)!
I appreciate Newegg for taking the time and effort to implement such a system for us.

What's with all of the senseless replies regarding Paypal? Refunds via Paypal are instantaneous - literally completed with the click of a button. If there is a delay, it lies solely with the merchant.
Granted, I don't think 5 days is anything to get excited about but to blame Paypal is just nutty.
