Hi. I wanna upgrade my ram pretty soon but some people r saying that if u install ram u have to put it in pairs? why cant i just buy 1 stick and install it? some1 help. thanks

It all depends on your system hardware. Anychance you could post your full system specs? If you run a single channel mobo you can install 1 stick at a time, Dual channel - multiples of 2, Triple channel (i7 for example) - multiples of 3. You can always install 1 stick of RAM in any system. But if you have a dual or tripple channel memory controller you will decrease system performance.

2gb ram
500gb hdd
256mb ati radeon 3650 hd
300w psu
motherboard model : 0RY206 .. A dell motherboard

Your board uses DDR2 dual channel memory so I'm guess it has 2x 1024MB DIMMS in it now and two free slots? Since it's a Dell you probably don't overclock so the best (and cheapest) way to get 4GB would be to install another 2x 1024MB DIMMs. Like these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148163
