Just fired up Boinc again but having problems!!

I had to stop my seti work a while back now as I was using to much electric and it was costing a fortune!

Decided to restart today on 3 PC's but i'm having the following error msgs:

Scheduler request failed: HTTP bad gateway <-This ones happening a lot

Message from server: (Project has no available jobs) <-just a couple of times

one of my PC's did start to download a WU but if just stayed a 0% downloaded. My internet seems to be ok. Any ideas?

Typical, my slowest PC has just started a WU. It's only a 1.9Ghz P4, lol

Suppose that rules out a internet problem. Is the seti project just bogged down at the moment?

2nd PC just started work. Hopefully sorted now, just a slow start maybe.

Well, if your pcs are trying to get astropulse units, there aren't really any available. If your running an optimized app just for those, you might want to change your app_info.xml to include regular SAH workunits.

However, that still doesn't explain the bad gateway errors. The first thing that comes to mind is a firewall problem. You running one of those?

Also, yes the project has been really bogged down lately. They had to cut way back on astropulse units which made everybody dl/ul a whole bunch more of the smaller units. From what I hear, they only get like a 80mb connection there to start with. The increased traffic regularly brings the SETI pipe to its knees.

Lastly, there is an edit button on your posts for a reason. It is considered impolite to make a new post to add one or two new lines of info when no one has posted after you. Not being a jerk or anything, just letting you know.

Ok, first let me apologise for not using the edit botton, my bad. It's not as if I'm new here either so sorry about that.

All 3 PC's have work now and two of them are well underway.

One of then has work waiting to start but can't because of the following error:

18/07/2009 18:59:50 SETI@home [error] Checksum or signature error for setigraphics_6.03_windows_intelx86.exe

Hopefully it will sort itself out like the other two have.
Not getting the HTTP bad gateway as much now but quite a few "the project has no available jobs".

I do use the built in firewall of Vista and the one built into my router. I have disabled my router firewall but still getting the odd HTTP error.

seti@home is going through bandwidth issues right now. their 100mbit pipe is maxed out. its getting to be a real pain to get upload or download work.astropulse? at this point forget about ap's. you get one once in a while but thats about it.

just been reading through the forums on the seti site. Big bandwidth problems as you said. Hope they sort it out soon.

Yeah me too. I Set my client not to download any more new work, it's still crunching numbers but it's down to about 2 or 3 days worth left from 10 days.

No sense adding to the problem at this time. When they get the bandwidth issue resolved and there's more AP coming out, I'll turn on BOINC.
