i am trying to learn how to script. is there any free literature out there that is simple to read and understand perhaps something like scripting for dummies or something like that.

What do you mean exactly by scripting? CGI-scripts? PERL? Javascript? You'll need to be a bit more specific...

Well I'm not familiar with ".far". I did a search on a few sites for extension lookup but all I found were things unrelated to scripting (thesims data files, etc). I don't suppose you could just cut and paste a little bit of the code? Then we'd probably be able to tell you what language it is. Or maybe someone else is familiar with this file extension.

"Scripting" is a big topic. Its like saying "Can you guys teach me how to talk?". Its a big field.

yes sims is one game i would like to learn how to make the scripts to. it is a very fine game but is limited to only a few talents like working out they only have a weight bench and swimming and that is about all you can do to build body points.
