Godd Score or bad?

I can get 2,900 on 3dmark2000 and I know if I overclock it some more..........I can get 3000.........Remember I can get these scores with retail settings and without anti-alasing even though 3dmark doesn't encorprate alti-alasing very well.........With anti-alasing on really doesn't bring down my score that much anyway.........but is 3000 a good score with a voodo 5 5500..........I have a celeron 1000 with 768mb SDRAM and sound blaster audigy.......modem.........abit Bx-133 Raid Motherboard with raid controller..........And the rest of the usual........Like the tower and ****..........Oh ya....And a 40Gb hard drive

My friend has told me he gets about 2500 with his V5 and an XP 1800+.

Now if he didn't screw anything up I'd say your doing pretty good.

You really can't compare with 2000 now as 2001 is being used all over the place. But it may seem above normal as you have a high chip for it.

whats yours, 32 or 64MB?

My voodo 5 is 64mb but only reads as 32mb cause each chip like processes the same data or a texture twice but it is really 64.......A lot of confusion with voodo's and their memory......

do u think that is a regular score? you know im not sure at all but it seems a bit low to me, considering the cpu you have. i think that my mx would get about 5600 running in your system. i always thought they both would perform similar.

I guess.........I dont think my celeron 1000 would get anything above 5000 unless I had a geforce 3 or something......That's my next card.........Or the Radeon 8,500 if I have enough money.

as i got a duron 900 with 64mb geforce 2 mx 400 and i get 5900 in 3d mark 2000

Actually with the vidoe card he has, it is probably better to use 3dmark 2000 and compare his scores with other 3dmark 2000 scores. Because 3dmark2001 uses cards optimized for Directx 8. And his V5 was not built to use Direct X 8. But that's just my 2 cents.

i think thats really low.....i got 2200 with a Rage Fury Pro and a PIII 600....both unoverclocked....

I can't really say if that is a bad score, but... While I was waiting for my GF2ti I ran some tests (both 2k and 2k1):

750 T-Bird + Geforce2 Ti: 4716 (3938 in 32bit mode)

750 T-Bird + Voodoo3 2k: 1258 (1302@166mHz)
750 T-Bird + Geforce2 Ti: 2461 (32bit mode; low, isn't it?)

All tests were run w/3dMark's defaults in 1024x768x16 (V3 "fakes" 32bit). I think that I had to turn off 32&64MB fillrate for the K6-2 because it would lock up. I think the Slot-A Athlon is what holds it up, but, all in all, not bad for what I paid.

I used a 7200rpm Maxtor 60GB for the T-Bird runs which might have raised them. I also have 256MB (192MB for K6-2 runs) memory. Compairing the scores, either yours are deflated or mine inflated (no tampering on my part). I reamember that the V3 can do 333mpix/s and the V5 can do 733mpix/s - shouldn't that double your score over mine? Maybe try it in 16bit mode to test against the T-Bird+V3.

My radeon VE gets 1996 in 3dmark 2001@ 1024*768 32bit. Not that bad given it doesn't have the full 3d pipeline. Maybe I should get 3dmark2000 and see what I get. I can't do the nature test, my card doesn't support it. Well when I get a new mobo and can use 4x agp and fast writes maybe it'll go up a little.

I get about 3400 in 3D Mark 2001 with my System below!
So I would guess your Score is ok
