Yea, I'm looking for a good company to get RAM from, I only know of Micron, Crucial, and Corsair.. Are these some reliable names? I intend to overclock some, but mostly run games and photo editing stuff on it, then when the rig gets outdated, which will be in months no doubt, I will overclock the beast so it can compete, but I know overclocking is only good if all your componets are good enough to overclock. Any suggestions?

Read enough in this section and you'll get a good idea.
Mainly I'd say (in no particular order) Micron/Crucial, Corsair, Kingmax and haven't really heard much from Mushkin since DDR became widespread.
Yea Jon basically named all the common good ones .. The Crucial, Corsair, and Kingmax are the brands your going to run in alot if your looking for quality, and overclockable and performance wise.
crucial makes good ram
now if they would jsut make Rambus

Kingston, Viking, NCP, Twinmos.
I bet itīs the same for memory modules as for monitors; they all come from the same 2-3 factories, the only thing that differs is the brand.

My "crap" KIngston 512 Mb DDR works in cas2@300 Mhz......if that is crap, then crap is good enough for me. :)

yeah they're all crap :D
I went out and bought some Crucial [256MB x 1, PC133] and the benchies are worst than my old Kingston.
*worst thing is that the benchies keep getting worst, anybody know how to tell if I have a bad stick?

Stablity or very horrible ram performance like very horrible. Did you make sure all bios settings were correct?

I have a Compaq Presario 4880 [P//400 MMX] which means that I can't really do anything with the BIOS. What I have noticed is that my computer is starting to freeze [not completly, but more like pause for a few seconds] alot between tasks.
I'm staying with Crucial for its price, performance, quality and fast, free delivery. :)

What about OCZ? They have the highest speed ram. OCZ 3000. But i don't know if its any good. Can someone give me some input?
I have two sticks of Crucial 128 2100 that runs at 155 (310) cas2, fastest settings. This is on an AK31 mobo. This is not the boards max speed but none the less pretty good for pc2100.

OCZ3000 by warrenty will run @ 366MHz CL2.5, if it doesnt work, youll either get a replacement that will work or your money back.
I'm not gonna stick up for OCZ or anything, (love my Infineon) which is running just fine @ 133MHz CL2 4-way, dont forget thats 1GB! of it and stable as a rock! and its rated cl3 type 512MB dimms.
I have a friend that has purchased 4 OCZ3000 chips and he has gotten then to run @ 383MHz with CL2.5! I guess his wernt crap after all?
His Duron 600 is running @ 1149MHz with a 383MHz FSB. His combo currently equals out with people running XP1600 Athlons!
He only likes Durons since he only has a 100 bucks:D , not a penny more for a processor.

Compusa brand is good. forgot what chips they use...:P
I believe that ocz uses infineon, micron and one or two others. Ocz I believe and reviews as well as members of other forums have stated is capable of some very high fsbs. However (and strangely) they do seem to have very low cas2 max speeds. If I were going to go for a very high fsb and cas 2.5 was not important then I think that they might be a very cost/performance solution. Somewhere up in the stratosphere cas2 falls by the wayside at this time. My mobo will not go that high so I am looking for solid ram that will do 166 at cas2. This will maximize my mobo.
