Where to put fans

I am wanting to put some new case fans on my case. I want 2 suckers and 2 blowers. But i dont know where to put them. I want to put 2 on the top and 2 on the bottom. Which should I put on the top and which should I put on the bottom and why???:confused:

By top and bottom do you mean literally the top side and bottom side or do you mean the front and back sides near the top and bottom?? People do put fans on the top of the case but usually it's just a blow hole. As for the bottom that is not done too often, I guess it's because there isn't a lot of clearance for the air to move. Can you post a picture of the case you have? It would help alot.

If your putting 2 on top(meaning the top of the case) make those your "blow" holes...mount 2 on the lower side of the case, and make those your "suck" holes...besure to use some type of filtering media, like a cheap fibreglass air filter from your local home improvement store. here is a pic of what i mean by the side intakes:

Ive decided to put 2 fans blowing air out of the case on top and then 2 fans on the bottom side of the case sucking air in.

A lot of people go that route. As for my first reply I'm betting it didn't make too much sense. I've edited it just now. Note the word in bold that wasn't there before. It changes the whole meaning of what I said. Sorry about any confusion.
