Although the reviews seem ok, I wouldn't dare trust my system with an Apevia PSU. It'll probably choke under 700w of load. Those PSU's are WAY overrated.

ya i would trust my seasonic 600w psu more at 600w than that 1000w apevia at 500watts.

Dont skimp on a psu people, go with a GOOD brand, seasonic, corsair, antec...

Below is the review of the 900W model. Not sure if it shares the same OEM/internals though. 5.5 out of 10. POS comes to mind.

We're not trashing you, man. A lot of us just get really scared when we see PSUs like that because we've experienced what can happen when people use them. :eek:

Most likely overrated. Probably will run fine at 900W max since the 900W unit was overrated by 100W or so. So a 900W psu @ $110.. Seems okay I guess, but Apevia doesn't exactly have a great reputation. So it wouldn't be surprising to see people pass on this.

I've used the 500w's quite a bit as they are available local and cheap.

I've had two die out of probably 10. In both cases it was a phenom 9600 and a 9800gtx video card that did the killing with only one hard drive.

+1...as MANY have stated before, a PSU is the easiest and potentially most costly piece of hardware to skimp on. Get a quality PSU, this thread is a great reminder of that.
