Will F@H run on a unix/linux box with a non-x86 acrchitecture. My buddies got a few sparcs, and they also got a cray that could could spare a couple of hundred processors. Just a thought to crush the aussies.

I am pretty sure that Stanford would have to recompile the client to run on the sparcs and I'm don't know what would be involved with running it on the cray. THat would be nice though. Good thought. Hopefully they get off their duffs and make us some more clients :D

I know that the cray would be able to crunch near 100 WU a day if not more. The sparcs wouldn't do more than a normal desktop. There nothing too powerful, but i guess anything helps

Have you sent them an email asking about it? That would rock if you could get that cray folding :-)
fold on!

The only way to do it at this point would be with x86 emulation. But yeah, Stanford needs to support a whole lot of other platforms.

Anyone have an email for stanford. Your right the cray would rock, since they're upgrading to the new SV2, this would should be freed up, it puts out near 2 Teraflops i think (about 2000 times the power of my duron, that puts out 5 WU a day, you do the math
