Well, I'm contemplating getting a 2nd 4890 for my rig. I have the 700w version of this (http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story3&reid=7) PSU. Now, a search of the forums brings up this (http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=609727&highlight=4890+crossfire) thread, the general consensus is that my PSU would just make the cut with the requirements for 4890 crossfire. The question comes in about the actual connectors. My PSU has 1x 8pin PCIE, and 2x 6pin PCIE, and 4890 crossfire would require 2x 8pin and 2x 6pin. Would a cable like this (http://cgi.ebay.com/16-PCI-6-pin-to-2-x-8-pin-PCI-E-Power-Cable-Splitter_W0QQitemZ130291858885QQcmdZViewItemQQptZP CA_Cables_Adapters?hash=item1e55fffdc5&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14) work, essentially running one card off the power of 1x of the 6pin cables, or would I be better plugging in the cable into my PSU with all the molex connectors and use a cable like this (http://cgi.ebay.com/PCI-Express-8-Pin-Power-Adapter-Cable-nVIDIA-ATI-PCI-E_W0QQitemZ180385678138QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPCA_Cabl es_Adapters?hash=item29ffd3033a&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14)? Just not to sure on how the PSU puts power on each cable plugged in or what the draw is of that, so a little advice would be great. Sorry for all the links to look at :(
