And I think I have all the same labor pains. It's only money...right? Just backed up my system to transfer the data. I think I should have about 15G left after everything is on. I've got a bunch of garbage programs I could probably ditch to save some space...like both Nero and Roxio.

Hey congrats! It's a beautiful little guy! :)

And I think 80GB is more than enough. That's room for a decent amount of programs and still maybe 4-5 games installed too (I've got all the programs I regularly use and 5 large (newer) games installed and I'm at less than 80GB)

Congrats! I can't wait until I can have one of my own! :D

If I have programs that like to bloat, I like to install them on a secondary normal drive, even if its a damn IDE drive.

Yeah, I'd say if it's not something you will use regularly, or something that won't really show much benefit from the SSD speed, then a secondary drive install is probably a good idea

Well...I'm back up after a screw up. I meant to take out my old boot 3x500 RAID drives and I really took out my two 1.5 TB and one 500 GB drive. I'm like WTH when I booted into windows and it was telling me I had to format the drives to use them. No way that was going to happen because that is where all my data is. I look in disk management and I see a two 500 GB drives and no 1.5 TB drives. Sigh.

After everything is back on, I still have 20GB left.

This sucker is fast. I don't even see the welcome screen when starting Vista U. I see starting Windows and then the desktop. My Sidebar gadgets used to take forever to load, especially Everest, now about 5 seconds after Windows is up, it's running. This is just amazing.
