I am currently running a GF2MX 32meg DDR PCI OCd (240/335) on my computer (PII 350, 384meg, 80gig, audigy). Yeah, my processor sucks, I have a PIII 850 on order. Right now I get about 26fps in UT, and like 40 or so in Q3A. I'm assuming a new processor will help these out, but will the PCI interface be a big bottleneck for my system, especially with the faster processor?

BTW, It's a crappy OEM mobo that has an onboard agp card, therefore no agp slot.

personally i dont think its worth upgrading on that mobo specially with a PIII850......i think it would be better if you get an ECS K7S5A with a Duron 1GHZ for under 100$ and that will work much better than what you have right now, and it would crush the PIII system......and yes the PCI would be a bottleneck but youd still get 50-60 fps in Unreal at 1024.......

Around a CPU speed of 650 to 700Mhz the capabilities of the 3D-videocard becomes the bottleneck in most cases for AGP systems. Your CPU speed is well below that, so that P3-850 must make a difference. How much is hard to say for your PCI system until you find out for yourself...

Thanks for the input. And I will be purchasing a new mobo and cpu to build a new system. The 850 is just to upgrade this old one.
