hiya guys, i'm a little confused about something. i'm going to guess that my pny ti200 doesn't offer hardware dvd decoding. is this something that many cards offer? the reason i'm guessing that mine doesn't is because well... i can't play dvd's ;) i'm guessing i need a software decoder like windvd or the like, none of which came with my card (damn them... got me there). what really messes with my head is the documentation with the card itself...
"High-Definition Video Processor (HDVP) turns the PC into a full-quality DVD player"
i guess not ;) any clarification on this?

It does support it however you need something to play the dvd... like windvd or powerdvd... that really sucks that it didn't come with it...:(

argh... that's horrible  i couldn't believe my vid card didn't even come with a trial dvd player. i read that windows media player supports dvd playback in xp, but i guess i need a software decoder anyway? any recommendations to make something like that work?

Not sure... but I think Windows media player will do it right from the get go... Forgot about that... it shouldn't need anything except maybe a codec... but I'm sure you can get that for free online...
