Hearts of Iron 2 and 3

Does or did anyone play this game?
I got Hearts of Iron 3 cause it looked sweet but its very complicated and the tutorial didn't explain much about combat or anything like that. Someone give me some tips xD

Have HOI2, haven't started to look at 3 yet. Don't know what concepts translated over, so probably little help right now :p
