My last oc'ed system was a P4 2.4ghz running at 4ghz On Air, that was the time when I first joined this forum. That system is still running and is with my brother :) Anyway, Today, I decided to go back oc'ing.

My rig is on my sig and these are my settings :

My system didn't boot up at cpu vcore 1.36500V. After I changed it to 1.37500V, system booted. I have been browsing while burning dvd while watching a movie, and playing wow at the same time and I haven't gotten any errors. Below is my temp results.

Q's:
I haven't run prime 95. How many prime 95 should I be running? 2 instances?
Is there another testing software I should be running?
Are my settings okay?
Are my temps acceptable?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :) Thank you.

The new prime 95 will start up worker threads for each core, and it should be using four.

The settings look fine to me, only thing that stands out is the command rate but I've yet to get that to work on my system either. It just defaults to 2 even though it's set to 0.

For idle, yes. You need to get load temps.

where did you confirm that command rate defaults to 2 even though it's set to 0? which software did you use? I wanted to see it for myself and check if I could find solutions. Already downloaded latest P95, will test in a few.

That's right on the edge of how hot you want to be. It might be worth doing some more tweaking to get the voltage down a bit, as if your ambient temps get much hotter than that (your room gets hot) then you'll be over 80c.

But at that temperature right now, it'll be alright.

hmmm oc'ing before was much more easier, very few things to change... that's the thing I dunno which one to tweak/touch hehe as I have been scourching the net :) any clues?

hmmm past 26hrs, I think I can safely declare its stable :)

Did you do blend test (sorry cant see imageshack at the office)?

Also, read the C2D/C2Q overclocking guide found at this site. It should help you a lot.

yeah same here as for the link :( and as for the test, I did the maximum heat generation (button above blend test) as I have not oc'ed my ram...

It goes to tweaktown forums, yes but doesnt show the thread. You are likely a member there and we are not.
