I'm wondering what should I get.
A new sound card, or new speakers.
I have 2 panels and a subwoofer for speakers I think they cost around $35 and I've had them well over 2 years..
For a sound card I have soundblaster live value.
I don't really want to spend over $100
The game theater xp looks nice for $95 with shipping
Anways I think I need speakers more than a sound card
i agree. but its simple actually: better to have a live value with good speakers than an audigy with not so good speakers. isnt it?
What kind of speakers exactly do you have? Because without good speakers your sound card is useless. Without a good sound card and having good speakers your speakers are useless. If you don't want to dish out more than 100 bucks then I'd say go for the SB Live! 5.1 Version and get Altec Lansing speakers w/ subwoofer and 4 satilite speakers forgot what they're called and should give you at least good performance.

I have the soundblaster live value
The speakers are 2.1 (a Subwoofer and 2 satelites)
I think that is 2.1
they are Cambridge from the looks of it....
The reason I want better sound is because
I can't hear the sound from a distance when watching a dvd, plus my games could use a sound boost as well.
I have the latest drivers and all.
What are those speakers you are talking about altec?
I was looking at the Cambridge sound ones... hard to choose though.. fps 1000, fps1500, fps1600, fps1800 and fps2000....
Good speakers will do me good I think.. Quite a few to choose from though..
you can think on the audigy prices dropping next months.
i would get the better speakers because they wont drop the prices as much as the audigy cards will. when u have the money again you will be able to buy the card cheaper and will already have the good speakers.
