Result of gpu overheat?

Will overheat of the gpu of a video card result in a comp freeze??...cuz i a few days ago...i clocked my core clock to 10 more mhz...it was 240 then i clocked it more to 250...then in games my comp starts freezing...is this the result of gpu overheat...i turned it back down now...but i just wanted to see if it was the reason or not...

could be but not necessarily. You may have simply reached the GPU core's stability limit. Try it at 245 and see what happens.
