You guys think its worth it to get 2 optical drives? Or is it a waste of space?

Do you copy a lot of CD/DVDs? If so it cuts the time down as you can do it at the same time. Otherwise, I would say no. We cant tell you if its worth it to you. Only you know that.

I tend to do a lot of transferring from DVDs to my HDD, and I also tend to play games that require the CD in the drive, so having two (since I have an IDE port) is more convenient. I would just buy and use one for now.

Copying DVD's will typically not benifit. Most are dual layer and the vast majority of people will be burning to a single layer so it is still going to have to ripped to the HD. For games I usually do daemon and do a virtual drive, faster and no messing with disc's all the time.

For the longest time I felt like I needed to have two optical drives for some reason. I had a cd burner, and bought a dvd burner with the build, so I put them both in. I never used the cd burner since the dvd burner was just as fast and did more.

Pretty much the same deal with me, having two sounds nice, but then you get two and only ever use one.
I would just get one for now, and if for some reason you feel you need another one down the road grab it, worst thing that could happen is when you grab the second one later on it costs less..
As for daemon tools I use it all the time for games to cut out the CD aspect, good program.

Ya, I'll just get one, was on the fence cuz I wanted to use my last 5.25 bay for other crazy things. I love daemon tools too btw. Alcohol 120 (paid program) aint bad either when all esle fails. For just ripping ImgBurn is my fav.

Been using 2 DVDR/CDRW combo drives for the longest time. I switch up from one to the other. Using 2 makes it alot easier to copy from CD to CD/DVD to DVD and so forth ;)

I just use one myself these days I guess, I don't copy things very often to disk and use my HD's for direct access to a few things I guess :)
I used to always have two, but rarely used both at once.

Depends on what your doing I suppose.
