The 790FX-GD50 is a dual-channel board, so w/ 3 x 2GB sticks installed you're only running in single channel mode.

Yes, install the two sticks in slots DIMM1 & DIMM2 for dual-channel mode.

The DRAM Frequency shown in CPU-Z is 1/2 the effective frequency of 1600 MHz, which results in 800 MHz.

The stickies, here (http://www.ocforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=3), should be able to provide all the info you need.
Just remember that all hardware is differnt, so what works for someone else might not work for you.
Once you've had a read through the stickies just ask us any questions and we'll be happy to help.
Oh, and WELCOME! :)
