Ok so i like decent bass and such.. I've got bass boost on in Win 7 and the subs turned up most of the way. But until today I haven't noticed something.. When the bass gets heavier; there's a rattling sound, like something inside is loose or something? I haven't noticed it til now so I assume its only recently occurred. Does this mean somethings dying inside there; or somethings just loose? It only happens if i have the volume up 'decently' with the sub control over halfway. (i.e. more vibration). But I like the extra bass kick so it's annoying me that I have to turn it down (as the vibration noise it makes annoys me more!).
Any quick fix to this? Or perhaps a way to open the sub and fix it? Lol. Cheers guys

Hey, I just thought I would register on this forum, to say that I had this problem aswell. I figured I'd attempt to open the box myself and find out just what was rattling. Unfortunately, I couldn't really open it, without being unable to put it back together, so I screwed the panel at the back on again. When I finally plugged everything in and back together, the subwoofer could play some of my bass heaviest tracks (Trentemøller - Into the Trees) without making a single rattling sound, safe other things rattling in my room.
From what I could hear, the rattling sound comes from one of the cables connected at the back. I tried moving a bit around with the powercord while playing music, and that seemed to change the amount of rattling.
I hope this information can help you out a little :)
This (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrfGm_ju_D0) is the song I tested with. Got some pretty bass heavy parts at 2:14 and forth.

Back when I had the problem, it seemed to come and go over long periods of time (weeks to months). If the problem comes back, try moving the cables at the back of the sub around a bit. Don't unscrew the panel though, as this is pointless I think, and will void your warranty. You can try tighening some of the screws aswell. The screws that are not at the edges of the panel, seem to be keeping cables and other things in place, so try tightening these.

If youre running bass boost, and have the sub turned up all the way...it may be voice coil rub. Voice coil rub is bad, as it will damage the subwoofer...or any speaker for that matter. Voice coil rub happens when the speaker or sub is driven too hard. The speaker cone goes far beyond its normal excursion limit.

It's highly likely this is the cause. I've got the sub set fairly high + bass boost in both the lowest frequency via equalizer in winamp, + windows audio (win 7), bass boost :P. So prob overkill for these speakers. I'll keep that in mind :P. Works great with my headphones though ^^.

I don't run bassboost. I would be surprised if the normal max setting on the sub is enough to actually kill itself. I'm pretty sure the rattling Mjolnir and I have experienced is just a loose cable.
i got the same problem
but is no coil, there is a long tube that air comes out has come off (similar like a toilet roll )
which is rattling when too much vibration
jus get that is place n superglue it, problem solved]
