Firewall Discussion Here?

Hello,
I know this is in the Hardware section but I saw anti-virus talk so I wasn't sure where I would discuss Software Firewalls. If it is OK to discuss it here; What do people use?

I am used to Cisco access lists but obviously that doesn't work on a PC. I am using Windows Defender now. No real impression at the moment. I used checkpoint before but I didn't see where I could get the granular control I wanted for packet types and such but I may have missed it.

Any opinions?

windows firewall, can be set as a very secure firewall.. click on start -> run -> mmc -> file -> add/remove stanp-in -> add -> firewall and configure. If dont want to use windows, zone-alarm firewall is good. Also a hardware firewall is a good solution :)

I have no real experience working with the XP or VISTA windows firewall, however I was pleased with Zone Alarm (free) when I was running windows on my desktop.
