View Full Version : Globalwin WBK-38 - Any Good?
I have a rather serious heat problem ( 60c )
I was wondering if anyone thinks this one is better than the fop-38 or if it would have any problems on an ECS K7-AMA?

I would reccomend an SVC Golden Gate (www.svcompucycle.com) since it is about the same pricew but with much better cooling. Also some good case cooling would probably help out a lot. Do you have any casefans in your system?

I have the WBK, I think is great for the price. A little loud. My max temp is 44c after I lapped it.

unfortuantly both the FOP-38 and WBK 38 are very old and global win now have much newer and better offerings like the SAK38 here: http://www.overclockers.com/articles518/ and the soon to be avalable CDK 38 here: http://www.overclockers.com/articles514/, but as Bnder suggests get a golden gate, it is much better.
I have the Golden Gate clone, the OCZ Tech Gladiator. Works absolutely awesome.
My friend has the WBK38. Make sure that clip is in the correct position. Not too crazy about them as they are old as mentioned, and the clip is a b!tch to get on and off.
The Golden Gate looks pretty nice, I think I'll just go for that. As for case cooling I have 1 80mm fan sucking hot air out. But with the Golden Gate purchase i'll also be buying a 120mm fan to cover the pci and agp slots, and also another 80mm to suck cool air in. (See Pic)
Is the clip on the Golden Gate easy to use?
And I think I found a better deal at maxcooler.com, just $19 and they have the other two fans I wanted.

anybody know about the clip on the golden gate?

I would get an Alpha Pal 8045 if I was in your Position. Very effective cooling at reasonable noise levels
