View Full Version : Freakin Amazing! Expectations Blown Away!

Well I got new Entropia VU 10.0, runs without a hitch cap'd at 50 and 60's and for a MMO with probably the biggest map in any mmo. Its overwhelming, yet beautiful, yet at the same time shocking. Ill be posting a review in here later.

But it's only detecting 1gb of ram, and when I load up I can't move and the graphics are screwed beyond belief. Darnit...

Yea give it time they needa do alot of patching right now Nvidia users are experiencing BSODs and horrible problems, funny cuz the game is Nvidia the way its meant to be played lol.

I filmed a video with fraps, ill upload it to youtube when I get home, its amazing. Like you have no idea till you see it in action. Its ridicolous.

Youtube is never anywhere near a real game's quality (even at 720p), I'd recommend also uploading a high res version with high bitrate (like 1680x1050 @ 10,000 kbps h264) on wegame.com and/or filefront. That would give a much better impression.

The game still is riddled with small bugs and login issues, I finally found away my weird login issues. Its not a good way around but it will have to do till they patch more. They've released 2 patches in 2 days so they are making progress, Id say in a month or so this game will be polished up. But its still great,

Id like to share what I experienced today while running back from mining to help a friend. Sun was coming up over the hill.

Its 1920x1080, Didn't want to ruin the forum by [img]ing huge pics. :drool:

Yeah, it's pretty now. But by the looks of the video, gameplay hasn't changed much. There is hardly any interaction with other players and there isn't much to do except kill creatures. It was so boring that I unloaded it after a week.

Downloading it as we speak... Lets hope it likes my NVidia card though !..

It does look very stunning from your Screenies and Vid.. Lets just see if it hits the mark with gameplay.

Yeah, it's pretty now. But by the looks of the video, gameplay hasn't changed much. There is hardly any interaction with other players and there isn't much to do except kill creatures. It was so boring that I unloaded it after a week.

Actually there's plenty to do, Hunt, Mine, Craft, Trade, PVP, Color.etc, however not many people are on right now because a lot of people have to buy new computers and wait for all the bugs and stuff to get worked out. But usually there's quite a bit of player interaction, team hunts, beacon missions, etc.

Well the cryengine (2 in this case) has shown once again what a stunningly beautiful resource hog it is! I love this engine just for the shear pleasure I get looking at a game run off of it! It is amazingly life like. Cyrsis warhead blew me away with realistic game play (actually shooting characters and having them fall was big for me). I might just have to try this.

Its still not that big of a hog, GTAIV is still the winner for that.

3. I Don't even know how to use a weapon

Yea, the game has a huge learning curve if its not something you think you can get into you probably won't.

1. If you go into first person its pretty much like any FPS game, but yea controls take some getting used to when you first play.

2. To find stuff to kill just go a bit out of the cities. Also they are still adding quite a bit of stuff in the current version. It will probably be more polished up in a month or so.

3. Weapons are a whole different story, first you have to buy one, then you have to buy ammo. And right now since sweating (free way of getting PED) is disabled until version 10.2 (coming in 1-3 weeks) there's no way for anyone to get ingame money unless they deposit until sweat comes back in those 3 weeks.

Entropia is a long haul. Some people enjoy it, some people don't.
