Vortex 2 driver for WinXP?

A friend of mine has a Aureal Vortex 2 (8830 chipset) sound card. WinXP seems to have built-in driver support for it but he is wondering if (1) the XP driver supports A3D and (2) if any better drivers exist? TIA.

Aureal is dead. Bought out by Creative. Driver support is nil on their cards. MS was nice enough to write a driver to support it in WinXP
