optical drive dont work in Xp but do in 98

my two optical drives show up in the device manager as a problem. you know the "!" next to the icon. Ever time when i uninstall the two problem drives, it asks my to restart, say yes, and then the two drives show up as a problem again. but this does not happen in win98, the optical drives work fine there. this happen before? :confused:

have u tried installing the drivers for the drives manually? Xp may not have a default driver for the device.. :burn:

What's your Mobo? .. did you try to install your chipset drivers? .. you may not have the XP chipset installed...
