Before I get started I just want to say I have checked on Google and several gaming forums and OCforums and my problem seems to be somewhat unique.
Issue: So whenever I start COD4 multilayer the game lunchs fine and I can proceed to a server. I can join the game and start enjoying some kills till all of a sudden the game freezes and I just return to desktop. No error, no sound looping, no other programs crashing. When I join a punk buster disabled game I have none of these problems what so ever.
What I’ve don so far: Besides from the obvious driver updates, restarts, reinstalls, and game updates, and since almost every thread on every forum pointed to punk buster, I’ve been meddling with it.
1. I’ve deleted the folder and forced it to update it safe thinking it was corrupt files
2. Updated the game again and again including manual update
3. Used the service tester to make sure punk buster is working fine
4. Opened ports and later enabled full DMZ
So, You OCForum Fixer Gurus I need your help. I need to fix this or at least find out if it’s my OS (Windows 7 Eval Copy. Build 7057. Winmain 090305-2000) fault, cuz I’ve had this problem before but it was on XP and I’ve never had to do anything weird but simply upgrade punk buster
Side notes: All temps are at around 35C-40C which is what it usually is and all programs terminated i still get the same problem.
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.4GHz
Memory: 4096MB RAM
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT
PSU: 750W ThermalTake
Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7057) (7057.winmain.090305-2000)
Motherboard: GIGABYTE LGA775
Any help is appreciated Cheers

Uninstall then reinstall PB. Once you've reinstalled PB, make sure it's updated using the manual updater on PBs site. Opening the game and running it as admin has helped me get rid of the PB problems I have had, running the RC here, but had the problems and used the fix in the beta 7000 as well.

thnx seanbest and jediobi1 i had tryed both and retryed them again and still nothing
I tryed to go about it this way...
http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=289374
That seemed to work fine and it delays the crashes by a bit but not much :/
But its pretty much confirmed that Punkbuster just dousent wana update there client and server files till windows 7 is officially released so the problem is not hardware nor the game it self if any one else out there is having the problem and have found a fix for it or if anyone has some good ideas and how i can bypass this, by all means say something and i will love u forever.

Another thing I did that I found on another forums was to right click on the MP executable file and go to Security. The edit permissions and make sure that your current user has all permissions. Supposedly that fixed some PB issues. I did that along with run as admin and it has worked fine. Hope this might help.
