For now, it's fun just too see how far this chip
will go. When i find that limit, i'll probably need
to back down some to get stable...Right now i
think i'm at the limit for the intel HS/F....temp
is 33C surfing. Time to break out the copper HS/F

did you lap it or do anything to it? i suggest lap it if you have not done so.

pappypete

Yes, i did lap the intel HS......just set to 175FSB,
loaded windows but had error at desktop

Very impressive.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is lapping?

We lap the contact surface of the HS, by sanding on
a flat surface. (glass) The idea is......to get the HS flat
and improve the surface, use 400 grit to start and
finnish as fine as you want

Thanx, I'm used to term 'milling' from my dirt bike days.

I have a PIII-S Tualatin 1.266GHz at 171MHz FSB as well. Here are some screenshots of benchmarks.

This is watercooled (no peltier, yet) running on an ST6-RAID at 1.575V. I have also removed the processor's IHS.

Look at the numbers, the future 1.6 GHz PIII S is going to be the sleeper CPU of the year. I can see a pair of them in my future. Thanks pappypete for showing the light. Nice overclock too! :D

This is what crap ram running at 2-2-2 5/7 looks like. I hope this isn't holding back my chip
