I'm putting together another cheap HTPC, but the motherboard I'm using doesn't have any SATA ports, and I'm planning on installing a Bluray drive.

Will a PCI to SATA card be sufficient to run the Blu-ray player and playback Blu-ray movies? Thanks.

Yes. The band width on a PCI lane is enough for Blu ray playback no problem.

Is the Blu-ray drive compatible though? I heard most PCI to SATA cards aren't meant for disk drives?!
