How is this board

Gigabyte GA-G31M-ES2L mATX LGA775?

My friend ripped a Prentium D from an old computer and plans to build a rig around it. Given its very affordable price, how's the mobo's quality? Has anybody already owned one and used it?

I don't think he'll overclock so that aspect doesn't matter.

I had one. I'd say it's pretty good and has some ocing features. Stable platform from a reputable brand.

You might want to make sure that the Pentium D is on the board's approved list, they draw a huge amount of power and at least one G31 board simply doesn't have the juice for it (that being the ECS offering).

This is what they claim to be compatible with the board. Hopefully the info is right.

Uh....Opteron? Don't think so. Have fun trying to put an AMD 939 CPU with pins in an Intel 775 motherboard with pins.

Your're right! I didn't even pay attention to that as my eyes just caught Pentium D on the list. Now I really lost the trust for this list. Gatta go ask them to confirm.
