Planning on creating a new AM3 build and I need some advice... Probably a totally |\|008 question but hey that's sorta what I am :)

Dual Channel RAM, I have 4 DIMM slots on the mobo im going for:

MSI 790FX-GD70

Im planning on getting

CORSAIR DOMINATOR 2gig x 2 (4 Gig) DDR3 CM3X-1600C9D 1600mhz Matched Pair

but a good buddy of mine is offering me some of his old G.Skill Sticks for next to nothing

he has 2 x 2 gig 1333Mhz (No idea what model numbers)

Anyway question is thus, will the 2 batches of paired memory work together? If it does will putting the slower G.Skill RAM in hamper my Corsair's useability? Anyone able to advise me on what to do? I was planning on experimenting with OC'ing the Corsair RAM...(once I learn how!)

I realise that despite me many years of PC tinkering I know next to nothing about RAM so some advice would be helpful

They will work, but yes the G.Skill will hinder the Corsair's performance because of the speed difference and the difference of brands. If you are going for a budget build then I will nominate the G.Skill because you can overclock the memory to 1600Mhz anyway, plus I doubt you need 8GB.
