Hello all...
I am really having a hard time OC my P3 1.1/100...It has 256 cache

The max I could reach is 1.2 !! It this the limit!!
Did anyone manage to oc the same processor more....And how much can I increase the voltage without crapping the processor...
By the way , there is an option in BIOS that says :
Auto. detect PCI/DIMM CLK
Is this option useful or just unseful crap

To tell you the truth , I really want to get to 133 FSB becuse this will correct my AGP and PCI CLK so they will not get higher than they should be..

Thank you

welcome to the forum

most of us running the 1100E are hitting in the 1300's. If your mobo has a 1/4 divisor at 124FSB then you can probly hit that with proper cooling if not go as high as your PCI devices will allow.

only 1 person I know of has hit 133 FSB on air with voltage at 2.05 I think

Cheers Deez  !!

How can I know if my MB has the 1/4 div on 124 FSB....And does the option auto. detect PCI/DIMM CLK has anything to do with it..

If it helps my MB is soltek with VIA APP. PRO. 133A

Do you know if your bios has FSB (front Side Bus) and voltage adjustment? I assume it has some since you got to 1.2

If it does then look for the CPU/PCI clock ratio or similar setting and it will either read in the format FSB : divisor (example 124:1/3 )
or in the format FSB : Ram clock : PCI clock (example 124:124:41.5)

or possibly something else depending on your bios. if you do have a divisor for 1/4 at or close to 124FSB then you can probably get your chip that high with a good heatsink...preferably copper. You may also need to increase voltage

Yes it has settings for FSB and voltage....

But only it gives you readings for FSB and does not give you any thing about PCI or AGP....

I have managed to reach 1.26 with V increased 0.1V

I will try to keep going up more.....Hope that my PCI devices will keep up with this increase.....Pls correct me on this but I heared that the HD can take about 42 PCI CLK and if you try to go more then data from and to HD will be corrupted wihout even you knowing that...Hope this is incorrect info..

beware of you temp tho. before you try to do anything, check the stability and temp!! and don't up you vcore unless really have to.

The temp.gets to 39 at full load which is really good...I used to get 36 at full load before any OC....I had to increase 0.1V becuase it kept crashing at default V....

Now I have to keep an eye on the HD....I hope that info. about crapped HD data is incorrect...

I am sure that many poeple here have an OC PCI bus...how much did you manage to OC your PCI bus without problems!!

some start to get probs above 37Mhz although I have run sucessfully at 41. Currently running at 39

It is very correct, my friend...I just sent a 17Gb to its death with corrupt data at 124FSB...*snif* I'm gonna miss him *snif*

Well, my old WD 13.6 GB hd crapped out at 115MHz FSB, which translates to 38.3MHz. Most can do 40, though. My new rig can do up to 48, however, I only tried this setting for a few minutes (it was my own dumb error, I didn't know the 1/3 divider hadn't kicked in when using my Celery... whoops). It depends on the drive. Most IBM 20 and 40GB drives can do 40+, as well as some Maxtors and the newer WD's.

jazz, in response to Thelemac's devistating loss of a certain rubber chicken to the Ramen Gang (http://forums.overclockers.ws/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=61809) , I would suggest you change the qoute in your siggy...:D

My HD is Samsung 40G so I think it will take it...Hopefully!!

But really it was a disappointment.....I thought that this P3 will easily take the 133 with 0.1 or 0.2 V increase and save me this PCI CLK worries....Thats why I bought it instaed of the P3 1G at 133 FSB....There was no room for OC...But with the P3 1.1G and 100 FSBx11 It was a like an OC dream......

Hm, I'll have to figure out a new quote. Maybe I could jump over to that thread and get him with it before I do it though... I was at that thread before it blew up into an international diplomatic crisis.

EDIT: Ok, changed it now. Whaddya think???
