2 does folding run on linux ( thinking of changeing to linux becuase that computer needs refreeshed
and if so will some one show me a thing or two about linux ( just to get it running becuase i know nothing)

I'm pretty sure that the slowest computer that can complete work on time to count is around a Pentium 166. So that rules out and old 486 machines; they just don't have enough juice to do it.:) Stanford has a client to run on linux systems, so that is definitely an option to do Folding. Also, Stanford is supposed to be working on a client to run on Mac OSX, but I haven't seen it released yet.

The only problem is there is a time limit on WU's. So if it doesn't get turned in in time it is sent to another computer. Each WU uses info from a WU folded before it. I hope this helps.
