View Full Version : When do I start earning bonus for this -bigadv SMP???

I have read through the post on stanfords site about the large work units and I am a bit confused as to what these rules are. Now, I just started out folding the large ones on linux the other day...do i need to do 10 of these -bigadv to earn the bonus? Or do I need to do 10 regular SMP units like I was on VIsta?

10 big wu's need to be completed first. They want to make sure your computer can handle these wu's before they give any bonus.

You only need to fold 10 A2 wu's (2669,2667s work) with a passkey. And have 8/10 completed without errors. It doesn't even have to be the same machine, just under the same user/passkey.

I received bonus's on my very first 2681 wu.

So is 2681 count as 1 of the A2 WU's?

Yup. If you want to get the bonus sooner, remove the -bigadv flag (leave -smp 8 on) and let it fold normal A2 wu's. Then switch it back when you have finished 10. If your machine can fold 2681 wu's in the recommended time frame then it will chew through normal A2's fast.

yea im at 98% on this 2681 and its about to hit the 2 day mark...

Nice, according to my calculator (http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=616570) thats worth roughly ~62k. If you haven't folded the A2 wus yet they should only take you 2 days.

I havent folded em yet...I just started them on Ubuntu like suggested without the -bigadv flag...I WANT THAT BONUS! lol

If you have folded using a VM those a2 wu count...as long as you folded them with you key

yea i wish id know this a while back about needing a key...Ive done probably 30 VMmare WUs on Windows 7 before I knew about these bonuses... :bang head
