this board + microcenter's $199 i7 920, what do you think? :)

well that would work if this board was LGA1366 for the i7 920. this board is LGA 1156,so your looking at the i7 700/800 series, to use in this board. $120 for this board isnt bad, it is just to bad MSI isnt offering the same deal to USA as they are to UK. msi in uk is 50% off at start of launch... would be nice to pick the board up for $60, but still considering where board prices are at now. $120 is nothing for what LGA 1156 has to offer to the gamer on a budget.

Wrong socket, yeah, just to reinforce that, least for the current ones I think.

I get confused myself by some of the variants of stuff floating around these days I guess :)

If this is the same one I saw at Fry's, the PCI Express slots are at 8x or 2 x 4x. Kind of slow if you ask me.

The guy at Fry's said they had an I5 for 205.00.

umm what? both slots would be at 8x/8x if in cf mode or 16x for any single slot. this is per the cpu, since the cpu now has PCIE ondie. pcie is not on the ICH like i7 has it... the down side is the small number of lanes 16 total...

on a side note after looking at the board agian... it has one x16 and 3 x1 slots so there is no way it would be 2 x4 slots... x4 slots are half the length of a x8 slot.
