Hi everyone,

I would like to know who makes Athlon air-cooled heatsinks that mount directly to the motherboard (ie they dont use cpu clips). So far I know about the Swifttech MC-462 and the Alpha PAL8045 (<---edited this, put wrong # first post).

The reason I ask is that I am an engineer and have built a prototype RF power amplifier that uses a MC-462. I did this since CPU heatsinks are much much cheaper than custom engineered ones when buying low quantities. The MC-462 works great, I would just like to find alternate sources that could replace it. Right now I use the Athlon motherboard bolt pattern, but could change it to a pentium motherboard pattern.

Thanks!

An Alpha PAL8045 fits the bill perfectly, plus fits an 80mm fan by default (more room for any mods because of that, too) :). Snag one from svcompucycle.com for $29.99 plus ~$4 shipping.
