Hey all, I have been an AMD user for over a year and a half now. My last Intel product was a P3 700 running at 980 on an Asus CUV4X. I have 3 AMD systems, all on Abit mainboards. I am in the process of selling one of my KT7E and 1.4 TBird systems running at 1632 and have decided to try a Retail Celeron 1.1a on an Abit VH6T mainboard. I miss a good challenge, the TBirds are too easy to overclock. I ordered the Celeron and mainboard from Newegg yesterday and they should be here by wednesday. I hope to get it running at 133 fsb. I have been reading the posts here for a few days now and want to thank you all for the excellent advice and information I have found. I am curious about which heatsink/fan combos you guys are using with your Celerons. I have both a spare Alpha PAL 6035 and an SK6 I was planning to use. Will these heatsinks fit alright and will they be suficient to cool the Celeron running at 1463? What are you guys using?
All advice is greatly appreciated.
when i get my tutalain system put together im going to be using this bad boy http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/swifmc.html :)
I love my Glaciator II. Running my 1.2 Tually with 1.75v and idle temps 33-34C. Load temps 37-38C. Very effective and quiet too.

This should probably be put under cooling, but we'll let the mods worry about that.
I'd go with the SK6. But both will work well for a Tualatin processor. I use a 72w peltier attached to an Alpha PEP66, and that works for me, but then again I'm sitting on a P3 1GHz. It does have the IHS though, and pretty much any HSF will work with the IHS. So I wouldn't worry about fitting.
If you can afford the Swiftechs, I hear the copper base s370 version is out. The design is very interesting. Looks like a good competitor.
Since I'm using one, the Gladiator works relatively well. I had to lap mine b/c I didn't remove my thermal pad very well. Anyways, with a Delta38, my 1.2@1.5 1.675v, my idle ranges from 29-33 and my load ranges between 32-35. My load temps fluctuates a lot so usually, I will get 32-33.
Skitzer...the SK6 should work ok with your 1.1A

Thanks everyone for your input and sorry if I used the wrong forum for this question but I am new here.
I'll try both but will probably go with the SK6. If it can keep my 1.4 TBird cool at 1632 it should work well with the Celeron. I was just wondering about the fit with the IHS. I'll let you know how I make out.

Either of your 2 hsf should work well with the Celeron T as they don't put out near the heat of a T-bird. I would use the 1 that is easier to mount of your mb if I were you. One thing I noticed with the IHS on my P3 1.26S proc is that it wasn't very level. It had a high ridge all around the outside of the IHS and the middle also had a high spot. I just lapped it down with 2000 grit wet or dry sandpaper so that it now makes good contact all the way across the IHS.

I got an Alpha Pal running on my P3-S. Seems to work good....
