pentium III temp?

hi! Im kostas and i hope someone will help me out with my cpu.So!i have a pentium III 800Mhz EB with a QDI ADVANCE 10 with the newest BIOS,512 RAM working with winXP.BIOS shows me that cpu temp is 51 C ,is that normal?I changed the stock cooler with spiral's 5E34B3-HH and nothing hapens not 1C down!Tell me if im wrong but i think that the normal temp should be 35-36 C.what is wrong?My room has 20-25 C.I put a case fan pulling the air out above cpu and it's still the same.System temp is 23-25 C.Do you have an idea why the temp never changes,up or down?Even when i overclock to 840MHZ ,still the same,51C.ANY IDEA?thanx.kostas greece:eek:

welcome to the family... i mean fourm.
first off do not trust the reading from the motherboard prob.
do yourself a favor and buy a temputuer display kit (as low as 15 bux) my old p3 ready temps around 50-60 but really were 38-44

a good program to use if youre lazy is SiSoft Sandra.

when you go into your CPU and BIOS info, it gives you the corrected temps (it knows how to do it)...

other than that, you can modify Motherboard MOnitor 5...

well if it helps at all,I have a stock not oc'ed PIII600b with stock intel cooler and not real good case cooling in my son's box and it is at 28C at idle.thats with "motherboard monitor 5.1"

i run a dual p3-750 setup both run at 34-36c at idle and upto 50c+ at full load but all p3 chips can operate at 70+ without any damage thats there rated working temp.

There is alot of miss information about temperatures.

I ran a dual p2-333 @ 400 both ran at 50c idle and upto 66c load for 3 years with no probs at all and they still run solid.

I got a p3 733 running at 800.. i know not a big overclock but i dont really need it right now...

anyhoo mine runs at 28-31 idle and under seti at full load reaches 55-60....

no problems yet
