Yep, it's a new one I guess......I hope this means Stanford is making some progress :D
Cool! It has already completed a frame! Only 9 to go....
It takes about 9 min. per frame for my comp. It sounds like the one Kendan posted about... But it has another name....

There's another one like it called ALA SIDECHAIN OPLSAA. Seems to be taking about as long as the Ser Sidechain - Charm. Haven't seen the TYR yet.

They started issuing these proteins to Linux consoles at first, before moving on to windoze clients as well. I picked up some of them on the linux box.

They fold very fast, but gives a low score....

comparing sidechain to gnra hairpin or villin. I can do 1 hairpin or villin in 7.75 hrs and 5 sidechains in 7.5 hrs
1 gnra hairpin= 2.0 pts
1 villin= 2.0 pts
5 sidechains= 1.5 pts

Those times sound good!!
Fold on!!
Well ...
I got a Charmm WU earlier, and it looks like it's different.
It's only got 10 frames, yes ... but ... 100000 steps ... and 2697 atoms!
I'm almost done with the 6th frame, and my average time per frame is 63.07 minutes.
... and the box has been pretty well left alone to fold.
... and NO, I'm not running the GUI or screensaver ... I'm running the console version of 2.17, with my screensaver set to "Blank Screen". CORE's getting 90 - 95% of the CPU.
This is a killer WU.
I'm half tempted to fire up the GUI just to see what this monster looks like. :D
Nah ...

I'm doing a VAL Sidechain-Amber right now
100000 steps atoms 2693 getting 20min per a frame. what is name of the protien that your folding. when it's done check how many point you get for it.
The exact name is "MET Sidechain - CHARMM"
I know my processor is no slouch, and it's folding like mad. This WU is just taking a long time.

Yeah I know, but I still think it's quite fast for a whole protien.

which one are you doing? my duron 800@958 is doing a gnra hairpin right now getting 6.53 min per frame. How does that compare to your celly?

I'm impressed. My Celly 800 turns those frames at a bit over 12 mins. By my math, your Duron is turning frames at about 1.5 the rate of my Celly! ... even factoring out the 158 MHz head start!
... let's see ... 800 x 1.5 ... I'd guess that your Duron times are about on par with a 1.2 Gig Celly!
*** Oops! Math error! 958 x 1.5 ... 1.4 GHz! ***
"Impressive. Most impressive." -D. Vader :D

i get 5.9-6 minutes on the Celly @ 1.4 with GNRA hairpin .......not that good compared to Athlons and Durons but pretty darn good for the price.....
